Product Manager / Associate Product Manager

Summary

This position within the 1-800-FLOWERS.COM organization provides a great entry into the merchandising and product development areas. It will also enable the right candidate the ability to learn the right skills to pursue additional career paths within the company in areas such as Planning, Website Merchandising and Sourcing. Management of key relationships within the organization such as planning, merchandising operations, fulfillment, marketing and Purchase Net will be required.

Position Overview

To work with the Business / Product Manager on the development of new Martha Stewart products those support the Martha Stewart for 1-800-Flowers.com brand strategy. This position interacts with all levels of the organization and requires excellent communication and presentation skills. In addition, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, manage projects, great attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft project), driving the development process focusing on revenue generation, gross margin management and achievement of EBITDA targets will be required. This candidate must also possess the ability to prioritize their workload on a daily basis. Creativity in thought process is a must. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Execution of strategies to execute sales and gross margin plans for the category that meet weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual requirements set forth by the company.
  • New Product development:
    • Work with 1-800-FLOWERS.COM and Martha Stewart product development teams to take concepts to commercialization.
    • Drive the process end to end
      • Work closely with floral and hard good purchasing team to commercialize products
      • Work closely with planning to develop merchandising plans to maximize profits.

    • Coordinate Merchandising operations functions, QA , and vendor relations to leverage supply chain for product development and profitable buying

  • Website Merchandising
    • Maximize profit and revenue return on website real estate
    • Maximize results of feature positioning through monthly re-merch process on welcome and individual channels through the use of best sellers and key items
    • Proof all images, copy and pricing on the website ? test functionality on a regular basis ? e.g. delivery calendar etc.
    • Analyze metrics and report on performance ? utilization of all appropriate tools, core metrics etc., and make decisions / recommendations based on the data
    • Coordinate feature placement with Merchandising ops to ensure inventory is sufficient to support the placement
    • Maximize key collections to feature best sellers to drive revenue and gross margin dollars
    • Monitor SKU performance and category performance on the website, with constant evaluation of SKU count

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years experience with a national branded retailer, on-line merchandising a strong plus.
  • 4 year college degree preferably in economics, finance, marketing or supply chain management ? MBA preferred
  • Strong quantitative skills required. Ability to develop plans, capture data, analyze data, summarize findings and implement initiatives
  • Proven track record in maximizing revenue, gross margin and EBITDA.

Manage and develop a team of up to 30 remote Customer Service Specialists to positively impact productivity, quality and staff retention.

Responsibilities

Customer BloomNet Account Manager

Primary Purpose and Function

In accordance with the established mission, policies and procedures of BloomNet/1-800-FLOWERS.COM and/or specific instructions from the Director BloomNet Customer Support the Account Manager is responsible for the management, development and coordination of BloomNet "Premier" member florists. Revenue Projections must be met in accordance with the budgets set for the fiscal year.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the management, development and coordination of relationship and required revenue driven performance metrics in accordance with the distinction of a Premier BloomNet member. Develops relationship, marketing objectives, and evaluates performance metrics to assigned member base. Manages and develops marketing programs and materials such as advertising, event support and online promotions for approximately 350 members. Must support budget attainment and consistent revenue development. Responsible for meeting outbound phone metrics on a daily basis. Meet and exceed revenue targets for product purchases and order allocation.

  • Ability to present direct and indirect benefits within all areas of Premier Florist membership via telesales model.
  • Responsible for managing entire scope of business relationship including all administrative, revenue driven objectives and retention.
  • Effectively communicate performance metrics managing out deficiencies.
  • Provides support to members to target and exceed results driven metrics during holiday and non-holiday times.
  • Incorporate all new incentive programs into your premier shops.
  • Manages core and seasonal product inventory including loyalty programs.

This team provides professional, courteous, responsive and accurate service to our customers from the comfort and convenience of their home office. The 1-800-FLOWERS.COM?s customer contact center handles sales and service calls for several brands including, Cheryl & Company, purveyor of Gourmet Cookies, The Popcorn Factory, Fannie May Chocolates and, of course, floral leader 1-800-FLOWERS.COM.

Sales and Service Specialists serve as the first contact customers have with the company and will be responsible for the effective and efficient handling of customer needs. The Sales and Service Specialists will be completing transactions in real time, working simultaneously with multiple software applications; consistently following up on promises and commitments on a timely basis; appropriately identifying and escalating unresolved issues.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be a resident and live in the following states Florida, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, and Virginia.
  • Highly PC literate and have their own PC with a reliable high-speed Internet connection
  • Ability to type 35 words per minute is essential
  • Prior call center experience strongly preferred
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED to apply
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Fundamental math skills required
  • Strong sales skills
  • Highly motivated and Dependable

Scheduling Requirement

The nature of the 1-800-FLOWERS.COM workload is dependent upon the number of customers that are placing orders. We are seeking individuals who are able to work flexible Full Time schedules.

Rate of Pay

We offer a competitive hourly rate plus a generous bonus paid at the end of the temporary assignment.
